The person I interviewed did not really have a lot to say on the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. He said that at the time he lived in the suburbs of Memphis. He said that it wasn't much different for teens then than it is today. He went to school everyday and hung out with friends just like we do now. The only big difference is he said when he was a kid when they wanted to go somewhere like a friends or to hang out somewhere they had to get their own transportation so I guess you could say they were more independent. He said he was pretty oblivious of King's assassination. He heard about it on the news and from people talking but he said it really didn't affect him. He heard there were riots in the city and that it wasn't safe to go downtown. This didn't affect him because he didn't usually go down town. He said it was dangerous for about two days but then things calmed down. Where he was he didn't see much of an affect following the incident. So overall my interviewee was not really affected by the assassination.
