My name is Jayla P. I attend Cordova middle, and I am currently in the 8th grade. For social studies, I had to interview someone that was old enough to understand the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. This interview will explain the impact of Martin Luther King's death on Memphis.
For this Project, my interviewee is Joyce S. When Martin Luther king was assassinated, Joyce was 19 years of age. At the time of the assassination she lived in Memphis, Tennessee. When she found out about the assassination, she felt as if it was disrespect to the country, family, friends, and community. The impact of the assassination was an uproar of riots, shootings, and racial slurs.
