Mr. Music, by Preston F., Harding Academy

The person I interviewed was my neighbor, Mr. Music. He was an investigator for the police in Memphis during the assassination of Martin Luther King junior. He was 33 years old during this horrible attack on King. He lived in Frasier in 1960's. He was at his home after a busy day at work when he came home and his daughter told him the news. He immediately put his jacket back on and went straight to his office and began gathering information and answering phone calls from all over the world to find out what happened. He also interviewed witnesses who saw exactly what happened on that day. His department worked nonstop figuring out who killed him. One time he spent 3 whole days and nights working at the office with little to no sleep. During the night, he remembers many uprisings, riots, looting, and many stores being burned. There was chaos everywhere. This led to a lot of violence in the world which is still sometimes evident today. Mr. Music's life didn't really change after the assassination, but he respected King. He worked for 24 hours straight after Martin Luther King was shot. His death was truly a tragic time for the people of Memphis and for the world.
